Our curriculum provides hands-on opportunities for campers to learn about India’s rich history & culture through games, projects & activities. We introduce topics like India’s inventions, architecture, Indian civilization, etc. Campers also choose from elective activities like Bollywood dance, Indian games, cooking, debate, drama & art. From conquering a scavenger hunt on Indian civilization to making chai & parathas, campers go home with new knowledge and new talents!
SPORTS & GAMES
Campers get introduced to sports that are both indiginous to India (like kabbadi and kho-kho) or are popular in today’s Indian culture (like hockey & cricket)
Popular games like chess and carrom have origins from India, and are a hit at IFNet camp, especially on rainy days! We also play traditional games like Pictionary and Scattegories with an Indian twist.
While campers are exposed to traditional Indian sports and games, they also have the opportunity to bond with their new friends playing sports like dodgeball, soccer & basketball.
Cultural activities introduce campers to customs and celebrations native to India. In addition to daily immersion of morning yoga & evening aarti, campers experience special events like Holi, Raas-Garba, Bhangra Party and Bollywood Movie Night.
Hosting camp at Camp Wicosuta allows us access to lakefront activities from swimming to kayaking, in addition to pool time. And summer camp would not be summer camp without quintessential activities like a bonfire, field day, talent show and carnival… our campers experience it all!
